HOW TO AVOID IT
Get your child two doses of the MMR shot:
- One at 12 – 15 months old
- One at 4 – 6 years old
Infants 6 – 11 months old should have one dose of the MMR shot before traveling to another country.

The large number of cases in 2014 was due to 23 measles outbreaks, including one large outbreak of 383 cases, occurring primarily among unvaccinated Amish communities in Ohio. Many of the cases in the U.S. in 2014 were associated with cases brought in from the Philippines, which experienced a large measles outbreak.
